The 10 Best Artisan Incense Shops in Ubud

Looking for incense in Ubud? Start with a maker or a retailer that can explain what is in the packet. Below are ten options to check, with walk-in shops, online sellers and stockist leads clearly separated so you can plan a useful visit.

Before you choose a shop

This is our own guide, and Sacred Smoke is included. It is not an independent ranking or proof that we have personally tested every product.

We checked the official sources below in October 2026. Some entries are branches of the same brand. Others are general retailers, not incense makers. Stock changes, so confirm the exact incense you want before travelling.

Ask three simple questions:

• What ingredients or fragrance materials are listed?
• Is this ready to burn, or a kit for making incense?
• Can I buy a small pack before choosing a larger one?

“Handmade” alone does not tell you the formula. Smell an unlit sample if the shop allows it, but remember the burning scent can be different.

Maker shops and direct sellers

1. Sacred Smoke, Jl. Bisma

2. Utama Spice, Monkey Forest Road

Utama Spice's official directory lists a shop about 130 metres north of Monkey Forest. It is a convenient branch to check if you are already in that part of Ubud. See the official store directory before setting off.

The brand's incense catalogue includes Moonflower, Temple Spice and other blends. Ask the branch what is available that day.

3. Utama Spice, Jl. Gootama No. 12

Another branch of the same brand, useful if Gootama is closer to your accommodation. You do not need to visit every branch to find a different maker. Confirm the location in the Utama Spice directory.

4. Utama Spice, Jl. Hanoman No. 4

The official directory also lists this Hanoman branch. Pick the location that fits your day, then ask about incense stock rather than assuming each shop has the full online range.

5. Jepun Bali, order directly

Jepun Bali's official website identifies the business as Ubud-based and lists sticks, cones and coils. It offers online ordering and delivery to Bali accommodation.

This is a direct-order option, not a verified walk-in address in this guide. Contact the business about delivery timing and the specific scent you want.

6. Ishiki Bali, online while the store is unavailable

Ishiki's website currently says its physical store is temporarily unavailable and advertises online delivery in Ubud. Do not travel expecting an open shop without checking first.

Browse its listed stick, cone and powder formats. Product marketing is not independent evidence for health or pet-safety claims; this entry confirms a buying option only.

Retailers and stockist leads

7. Bali Buda, Ubud

Bali Buda lists Home Owner Bali incense in its catalogue. That product was marked out of stock when checked, so contact the Ubud shop before planning a purchase.

The official Bali Buda website provides its Ubud contact. This is a retailer to ask about stocked brands, not a claim that Bali Buda manufactures the incense.

8. Yoga Barn, Hanoman area

Yoga Barn appears in Utama Spice's Ubud stockist directory. Treat this as a lead if you are already visiting.

A brand stockist listing does not confirm that incense is on the shelf today. Ask specifically about incense before making a separate trip.

9. Bintang Supermarket, Penestanan

Also listed in Utama Spice's Ubud directory. This is a supermarket option, not an artisan studio. Confirm the incense range directly; a general brand listing may cover other products.

10. Alchemy, Penestanan

Utama Spice lists Alchemy as an Ubud stockist. If Penestanan is part of your day, ask whether its retail selection includes the incense you want.

As with the other stockist leads, we have not confirmed current incense inventory. We would rather tell you to check than promise a product that may not be there.

Plan a small shopping route

Choose one direct maker or dedicated brand shop first. Add a retailer only if it fits your route and has confirmed stock. There is no need to visit ten places just because a guide has ten entries.
